Area: Grades PreK-12
Qualifications: Any of the following certificates or degrees:
General Education Development Certificate (GED), High School Diploma, Associates Degree or higher, Non-Certified Teachers, Certified Teachers
Other: Board Policy DBAA (Legal)
Criminal History Record Information (CHRI)
For purposes of the CHRI review requirements, a "substitute teacher" is a teacher who is on call or on a list of approved substitutes to replace a regular teacher and has no regular or guaranteed hours. A substitute teacher may be certified or noncertified.
A district shall send or ensure that a person to whom this section applies sends to DPS information required for obtaining NCHRI, which may include fingerprints and photographs.

A district shall obtain all criminal history record information that relates to a substitute teacher for a district through the Department of Public Safety's criminal history clearinghouse.
